How the time card calculator works
Hours for a day are the time from clock in to clock out, minus the unpaid break. A paid rest break doesn't need entering, because it counts as time worked.
Overtime here is any time over 40 hours in the week, paid at one and a half times the hourly rate. That is the US federal rule for most hourly workers. Some states and countries add daily overtime or use different limits.
Gross pay is before tax and deductions: regular hours at your rate plus overtime hours at 1.5 times your rate.
